On 24-06-2022 Entrepreneurship Development Cell and IIC in association with Department of Computer Science and Engineering organized seminar on “Venture Capital Funding for Start-ups”. The session was handled by Dr. R.Ravi Professor/CSE, Francis Xavier Engineering College. The Programme started with the prayer by Prof.Dr.G.Aravind Swaminathan.
The resource person explained the importance engineering students opting the entrepreneurship as a career and to involve in the development of innovative products which will pave the way for the startup. While explaining the startup opportunities for the engineering students, the resource person explained the various resources and the support provided by the government for developing the startups. He highlighted the challenges the engineers must overcome while starting the startups. He said that the challenges are more during the early stage of entrepreneurship and he suggested how the entrepreneurs can mobilise the capital which is required for the creation of startup.
He also explained about the various Government funding to start the business like Startup india Fund and StartupTN. He highlighted the venture capital funds provided by the venture capital firms like Rajsree Ventures, Acsys Investments Private Ltd and Money Plant Investments etc. He explained how these venture capital firms are providing funds for the startups. and the opportunities available to the entrepreneurship through venture capital funds. The program was arranged for I year CSE students. The students actively participated in this seminar. The event was co-ordinated by Mr. M. Mukesh Krishnan, CSE EDC Coordinator.
