The program started with the welcome address by M.Mariammal, AP/CSE, Francis Xavier Engineering College. The lecture began with a focus on innovation as the cornerstone of entrepreneurship. The speaker emphasized that innovation isn't just about inventing new products or services, but about creatively solving problems, identifying opportunities and improving existing processes. The speaker said that in order to stay ahead, entrepreneurs must adopt a mindset of thinking beyond conventional norms—challenging existing solutions and questioning the status quo. This type of thinking, known as "out-of-the-box" thinking, is essential for identifying new opportunities and creating disruptive innovations.
One of the key takeaways was the importance of embracing failure and learning from mistakes. The speaker illustrated this by sharing personal experiences where failures turned into valuable lessons, leading to breakthroughs in business ventures. The speaker also highlighted the role of creativity and critical thinking in the entrepreneurial process. Through case studies and real-world examples, the guest speaker showed how successful entrepreneurs have solved complex problems by looking at them from unique perspectives. Whether it’s developing new products, finding novel ways to reach customers, or reimagining traditional business models, thinking creatively allows entrepreneurs to uncover opportunities others might overlook.
