On 29-08-2022 Entrepreneurship Development Cell and IIC in association with Department of Computer Science and Engineering organized guest talk on “The Role of Accelerators in Entrepreneurial Ecosystem”. The session was handled by Dr.C.Yesubai Rubavathy, Professor / CSE, Mobile App Industrial Applied Lab, Francis Xavier Engineering College. The Programme started with the prayer by Prof.Dr.G.Aravind Swaminathan and the event was co-ordinated by Mr. M.Mukesh Krishnan, AP/CSE
The resource person explained about the Entrepreneurial Ecosystem and the players in the ecosystem such as investors, advisors, mentors, skilled workers, research universities, and accelerators, as well as factors such as a culture that supports risk-taking and innovation. The spoke person said that the accelerators play an important role in stimulating innovation through a programme designed to take a cohort of participants and their ideas through an intensive programme to create, build and commercialize an investable product to grow and operate in the real world. She explained how accelerators can help fast-track a startup's growth and make social impact. The focus of all good accelerators is to build robust businesses. They can make a huge social impact by leveraging technologies for connecting, assessing, and mentoring a larger number of startups. She also explained about steps to develop business based on problem in society and about the various funding to start the business. The students actively participated in this guest lecture.
