On 27.06.2023 an expert talk on “Sharing of Entrepreneurial Experience by a Student Entrepreneur” was organized by the Entrepreneurship Development Cell and IIC in association with the Department of CSBS. The session was handled by Mr. R. Muthu Barvin, a student Entrepreneur, I CSBS, Francis Xavier Engineering College. 41 students from first year CSBS and 2 faculties of CSBS department participated in the program. The program was coordinated by Dr. T. Manimozhi, EDC coordinator of CSBS, Professor/Mathematics, Francis Xavier Engineering College from 10.00 A.M. – 12.00 PM.
As a student entrepreneur, he shared the entrepreneurial experience with the students. Starting a business while still in school can be a challenging but rewarding journey. The first step in any entrepreneurial endeavour is to identify a problem or an opportunity that you are passionate about. Once you have identified a potential business idea, it's essential to validate it. Surround yourself with like-minded individuals who can support and guide you on your entrepreneurial journey. Being a student comes with unique advantages, take advantage of resources available on campus, such as entrepreneurship programs, incubators, and competitions. These can provide funding, mentorship, and exposure for your business. Entrepreneurship is filled with ups and downs. Don't be discouraged by failures or setbacks. Instead, view them as learning opportunities and adapt your approach accordingly.
He also shared about e-commerce, its significance, major trends, and its impact on various industries and consumers. E-commerce refers to the buying and selling of goods and services over the internet. It can be categorized into several types: a) Business-to-Consumer (B2C): In this model, businesses sell products or services directly to individual consumers through online platforms. b) Business-to-Business (B2B): B2B e-commerce involves transactions between businesses, such as suppliers, manufacturers, and wholesalers. c) Consumer-to-Consumer (C2C): C2C e-commerce facilitates transactions between individual consumers through online marketplaces or platforms. The guest speaker being the student, the participants interacted very freely and gathered lot of information from the speaker. The session was an eye opener to all the participants.
