Session on How to Start a Startup

On 24.01.23 the Entrepreneurship Development Cell and IIC in association with department of ECE organized a session on “How to Start a Startup - A Discussion”. Mr. R. J. Senthil Kumar, Founder and Director, Sprout Knowledge Solutions Private Limited was the guest speaker. 88 students and 3 faculty members participated in the program. This event was coordinated by Dr R Prem Ananth AP/ECE and conducted with the guidance of Dr.Lourdes Poobala Rayen, IIC president and EDC Director.

The program started with the welcome address by Dr Lourdes Poobala Rayen, EDC Director. He also gave an introduction about the importance of startup and the financial support provided by the government for developing startups. Later he introduced the guest speaker to the students. Mr. R.J. Senthil Kumar, started the session by explaining his startup Sprout Knowledge Solutions Private Limited, he said through Sprout hands on training to school and college students in coding and also encourage the students to develop their own startup. He started the session by asking a question to the students “what are the problems you are facing in your daily life”. Students gave many problems, one of the student Miss. Remya presented a problem she faced in the bus and gave a solution also. The resource person said that identifying a problem and exploring the right solution for the same is the first process to begin a startup. The speaker gave lot of startup examples from the Indian scenario to motivate the students to choose startup as their career option. He also addressed the risk mitigations, product readiness, market reality, cost challenge and product shift. Further he gave information regarding the government support available for developing the startups. In the question & answer session the resource person gave valuable ideas to the students who raised questions. Students interacted with the guest speaker and benefitted a lot.
