On 16.06.2022 a motivation session on “Transforming Engineers to Entrepreneurs” was arranged by the Entrepreneurship Development Cell of ECE department and IIC through offline mode. The session was handled by Prof. A. Kandasamy, EDC Coordinator, Department of Civil Engineering, Francis Xavier Engineering College from 1.30 – 02.40 p.m.
The Seminar was presided by Mrs. J. Friska HOD/ECE and jointly coordinated by Dr. R Prem Ananth, IIC Convener, IIC Innovation Ambassador for "Design thinking & Innovations", Assistant professor, Francis Xavier Engineering College.
During his speech he explained the importance of engineers choosing entrepreneurship as a career. He started giving the meaning of entrepreneurship, importance of entrepreneurship and startups. He listed the qualities one must possess to become a successful entrepreneur and to manage the enterprise. He said that high degree of commitment, high energy level, foresightedness, desire of responsibility, risk taking ability, leadership and managerial skills, value for money and open mindedness are the qualities one should develop to succeed in the entrepreneurial venture.
Moreover, the resource person also explained the elements of Startup, start-up process, role and importance of startup in economic development. While explaining the startup and its role he gave lot of examples to showcase the role of engineers in developing startups. The session gave an insight and created an inspiration towards entrepreneurship. 42 students and 4 staff members participated in the program very actively and benefitted a lot through this program.
The interaction between the students and the resource person was highly motivating to all the students. Session came to an end with the feedback of Students.
