Role of Innovation and Start-Up Ecosystem Enablers

On 18.8.2023 a session on “Role of Innovation and Start-Up Ecosystem Enablers” was organized by the Entrepreneurship Development Cell and IIC in association with the Department of AI&DS. The session was handled by the resource person Dr.V.Rajalakshmi, HOD MBA,SCAD College of Engineering and Technology , Cheranmahadevi. 45 students from second year AI&DS and 1 faculty of AI&DS department participated in the program. The program was coordinated by Mrs P.Sooriabrabha, Assistant professor, Department of AI&DS from 1.30AM –4.30PM.

The program started with the introduction of guest speaker Dr.V.Rajalakshmi, HOD MBA,SCAD College of Engineering and Technology ,Cheranmahadevi by Mrs. P.Sooriabrabha Assistant professor Department of AI&DS .The resource person discussed about the Role of Innovation and Start-Up Ecosystem Enablers. He said that Innovation is the driving force behind the creation and growth of start-ups. It involves developing novel solutions to address existing problems or meet unmet needs. Start-ups bring disruptive ideas to the market, challenging traditional industries and driving technological advancements. Innovations also lead to the creation of intellectual property, which can be a valuable asset for start-ups in terms of competitiveness and valuation.

Start-ups often face resource constraints and high risks. Ecosystem enablers provide them with essential support, guidance, and resources to navigate these challenges effectively. Start-ups with innovative products and services can enhance a country's global competitiveness and reputation as a hub for innovation. Start-up ecosystem enablers refer to the supportive elements, structures, organizations, and policies that facilitate the growth and success of start-up companies. These enablers create an environment conducive to innovation, risk-taking, collaboration, and resource availability. Incubators and Accelerators provide mentoring, resources, and networking opportunities to early-stage start-ups, helping them refine their ideas and scale their businesses faster. The participants interacted with the resource person and clarified their doubts. The session was an enriching experience and moreover, an eye-opening session which helped the participants to gain more knowledge about startup ecosystem and the enablers.
