ORIENTATION PROGRAMME

The orientation program for first-year postgraduate students of Francis Xavier Engineering College was conducted on 11th September 2023 with the primary objective of providing a comprehensive introduction to the college, its resources, academic expectations, and the support systems. The program aimed to ease the transition of the students into the postgraduate academic environment, helping them to feel confident and prepared for the journey ahead.

The first session was handled by Dr.L.R.Priya, Professor Academics, who explained the curriculum structure and the rules and regulations of the Institution. Her moral stories captivated the students and made them realise the necessity of grooming their values along with skills and knowledge. The second session was handled by Mrs.D.Angelin Ranjithamani, Head/ dept of MCA, who spoke of the significance of mentorship program, the mentor mentee relationship and the aspects of self discipline that can tune a graduate to be a professional. She encouraged the students to have a good relationship with the mentor and insisted on the need to cooperate with the mentor to attain an overall growth. The score conversion of all the activities being participated inside and outside the campus were also touched upon which was further elaborated under SAS (Student Activity Score) by Mr. Pradeep T Rajan, AP/ECE.

The Third session was handled by Dr. G. Rajakumar, Controller of Examiner, who explained the Internal and External exam procedures, the significance of OBE (OutCome Based Procedure) and the need for maintaining a First class grade which can in turn make them land in a lucrative job. The Fourth session was conducted by Mrs. Evangeline, Asst.Prof, Dept of MBA who shed light on the Skill Trainings conducted in our College with a motto of creating skilled professionals. She further encouraged the students to participate in all the skill training programmes to attain maximum professional perfection. The afternoon session was handled by Dr. Sangeetha, Asst. Professor , Dept of MBA who shed light on the activities of the EDC wing of FXEC and encouraged the students to use all the amenities under EDC Cell in becoming dynamic entrepreneurs. The next session was handled by Dr. Caroline Viola Stella Mary, Head / ERP whose effective presentation on the utilisation of ERP system, student attendance, internal and external marks allocation under automation made the students spellbound.

The Last session was handled by Dr. Mohammed Sathik, Placement Director, who motivated the students to enrich themselves with the required skill sets to be placed in dream companies. He further motivated the students to make use of all the opportunities available to become a top catch for the core companies.The entire day session was found to be useful for the students in creating a mind map for themselves to attain a greater goal in life.
