Mentoring the Budding Engineers to Choose Startup as their Career Option

On 3.08.2023 a seminar on "Mentoring the Budding Engineers to Choose Startup as their Career Option" was organized by the Entrepreneurship Development Cell and IIC in association with the Department of Computer Science and Engineering. The session was handled by Dr.Lourdes Poobala Rayen, EDC Director and IIC President, Francis Xavier Engineering College, Tirunelveli from 09.30 AM - 12.30 PM. 170 students and 1 faculty member participated. This event was coordinated by M.Mariammal AP/CSE.

The resource person explained the advantages of being an entrepreneur by giving detailed insight about the business opportunities available in the social domine. While explaining the opportunities he requested the participants to identify the problems faced in the day-to-day life. Then the resource person asked the participants to spell out the problems identified and asked them to suggest some solution for the same. The speaker gave a lot of business ideas from the engineering domine and requested the participants to gather more information relating to that. He also underlined the need to develop the innovative ideas to give real time industrial application. He also gave some examples of the innovations and real time applications. He requested the participants to identify the business opportunities and to take initiatives to start a business venture.

The session was an interactive one and the speaker raised lot of questions to the participants which created a discussion on the topic. The session gave lot of insights about the various business opportunities for the engineering students.
