On 16.08.2024-19.08.2024 a session on "Mentoring Event: Poster Presentation on Startups: Linkage with Innovation Ambassador" was organized by the Entrepreneurship Development Cell and IIC in association with the Department of Computer Science and Business Systems. The session was handled by Mr.D.S.Barvin, Mr.Nadeeswararaja, Mr.Mariappan, Mr.Sabarigirinathan, Mr.Narendran, IV Year Department of Computer Science and Business Systems, Francis Xavier Engineering College, Vannarpettai , 45 students and 1 faculties participated. This event was coordinated by Mrs.Freeda Jebamalar.S AP/CSBS. This event was conducted with the guidance of Dr. Lourdes Poobala Rayen, EDC Director.
The program started with the welcome address by Mrs.Freeda Jebamalar.S, AP/CSBS Francis Xavier Engineering College. She introduced the presenters Mr. Nadeeswararaja, Mr.Mariappan, Mr.Sabarigirinathan, Mr.Narendran, IV Year Department of Computer Science and Business Systems, Francis Xavier Engineering College. The student entrepreneur Mr.D.S Barvin, started the speech by explaining about his new product called’ AI Tree Enumeration and Fire Prediction with QA Bot’. The Project was funded by the iCreate firm under a virtual funding process. The company provided the fund through the International Entrepreneur Development Council. The fund was provided in two stage: the first stage was given upfront, and the second stage will be provided upon project completion. The company will necessary handholding support for developing the Startup.
The next presenter Mr.Nandeeswararaja, started the speech by explaining about how Flipkart started, its founders, and major milestones. He explained the Flipkart’s e-commerce model, including its approach to online retail, marketplace, and logistics. He gave insights into Flipkart's position in the Indian e-commerce market. He also discussed the major competitors like Amazon India and how Flipkart differentiates itself from other eCommerce platform. He added that the key innovations like Flipkart’s use of AI for recommendation systems or its supply chain technology. He concluded finally about the impact of emerging technologies like AI, blockchain, or AR/VR on e-commerce.
The speaker Mr.Mariappan started the speech about what Ippo Pay is, its core services, and its role in the fintech industry. He added the company's mission and vision to provide context on its strategic goals and values. He discussed the Ippo Pay’s position in the fintech industry and its competitive landscape. He highlighted the unique features or innovations that differentiate Ippo Pay from competitors. Atlast, he concluded his speech by Providing guidance on career opportunities within Ippo Pay, including potential career paths and growth areas.
The speaker Mr.Narendran started the speech about providing a brief history of Amazon, including its founding by Jeff Bezos, initial focus on books, and its expansion into various sectors. He explained the Amazon's primary business segments, such as e-commerce, AWS (Amazon Web Services), Amazon Prime, and its ventures into hardware and digital services. He discussed about the structure of Amazon’s marketplace, where third-party sellers can list their products alongside Amazon’s own inventory and the technologies Amazon uses, including its cloud infrastructure, data analytics, and AI. He concluded his speech by highlighting growth areas within Amazon, such as emerging markets, new technologies, and evolving customer needs
The speaker Mr.Murugeshan, started the speech about providing a brief history of OYO including its founding by Ritesh Agarwal, its initial focus on budget hotels, and its growth trajectory. He explained about the OYO’s mission to create quality and affordable hospitality experiences and its vision for expanding globally. He highlighted the innovations like the OYO Rooms app, dynamic pricing algorithms, and automated property management solutions. Finally he concluded his speech by describing the OYO’s work environment, including its emphasis on innovation, customer-centricity, and rapid growth
The students left the session with a renewed sense of purpose, armed with valuable insights that will undoubtedly shape their entrepreneurial journey. This session served as a testament to the limitless possibilities that lie ahead for those who dare to dream and work tirelessly to turn those dreams into reality.
