On 14.07.2023 a Guest Lecture on "Incubation opportunities to develop Innovative Product" was organized by the Entrepreneurship Development Cell and IIC in association with the Department of Master of Computer Application. The session was handled by Mr. Gani Meeran, Proprietor-Anchor Furniture from 1.30 PM - 4.30 PM. 60 students and 2 faculties participated in the program. This event was coordinated by Mrs. M. K.Subbulakshmi AP/ECE.
The program started with the welcome address by Mrs. Angeline Ranjithamani HOD-MCA, Francis Xavier Engineering College. She said entrepreneurship, startup, innovation and Intellectual Property rights were the themes of Enterpertnership. The guest speaker Mr. Gani Meeran started the speech by explaining the terms, Incubation and innovation. He discussed the interconnections between these two terms and highlighted the need and importance of incubating the innovative ideas to develop prototype which helps to develop the innovative products. He also gave information about the qualities of an entrepreneur such as problem solving, risk taking, persistent effort and innovation to become a successful entrepreneur. Moreover he gave information about IP information relating to patents and designs for protecting the rights over the innovative products.
In the second session, guest speaker explained the types of Intellectual Property Rights. He gave few examples for each type of intellectual properties. He touched the process of developing a startup. The interaction between the students and the resource person was highly motivating to all the participants. Students gave their feedback at the end of the session.
