Identifying Innovative Startup Avenue in Electronics

On 18.10.2023 a “Identifying Innovative Startup Avenue in Electronics” was organized by the Entrepreneurship Development Cell and IIC in association with the Electronics and Communication Engineering department. The session was handled by Dr. G. Rajakumar, Controller of Examinations, IIC Vice President, Professor/ECE, Francis Xavier Engineering College. 41 students and 1 faculties participated. This event was coordinated by Dr. R Prem Ananth, IIC Convener, IIC Innovation Ambassador for "Design thinking & Innovations", Assistant professor, Francis Xavier Engineering College. This event was conducted with the guidance of Dr. Lourdes Poobala Rayen, IIC President.

The program started with the welcome address of Mrs Friska, HoD of ECE and she explained the activities of IIC and motivated the students to actively participate in IIC activity. She said to the students must take initiative to become a successful entrepreneur or a successful Innovator. She said today we have our IIC Vice President Dr. G. Rajakumar, who came here with various Startup Avenue in Electronics. She welcomes the students and asked the students to listen to various new avenues.

The speaker started the session and said that the electronics sector is expanding globally due to quick technological advancements and the manufacturing companies that specializes in electronic items. The speaker suggested few opportunities namely Sales, Servicing & Repair, PCB Manufacturing, Developing Embedded Products, Electronic Test Equipment Rental Services, Industrial Automation, Electrical Panel Manufacturing and E-Waste Recycling. The speaker highlighted the major global smartphone market players such as Apple, Samsung, Huawei, OPPO, Vivo, Xiaomi, Lenovo, LG Electronics, Sony, and ZTE which were started with a small capital.

He also suggested few Startup Avenue in Electronics such as Gaming Computer Assembly, Battery Manufacturing, Security Camera Manufacturing, Low-Cost Chip Manufacture, Robotic Vacuum Cleaners, Provider of Solar Panel Systems, Manufacturing of Inverters and Pneumatic Tools Production. He concluded his speech and said that being an entrepreneur one can enjoy the flexibility, independence, the time and financial freedom. He also addressed the question raised by the participants. The session was an interactive one and the participants gathered lot of business ideas in the field of Electronics.
