On 30th August 2022 a guest talk on “Shaping the Budding Engineers towards Innovation” was organized by the Department of Computer Science and Business Systems in association with Entrepreneurship Development Cell. Dr. A. Ravi, Robotics and Automation Incubation Centre of Francis Xavier Engineering College, Vannarpettai was the resource person. The program was conducted through offline and Dr. T. Manimozhi, EDC Co-Coordinator & Professor Mathematics of CSBS Department coordinated the program.
The guest speaker explained the process of innovation and why the engineering students must involve in innovation and product development. The speaker being the Robotics and Automation incubation centre incharge professor, he gave lot of examples form his own experience to the students attending the program. The speaker told that we are living in the digital world where everything changes very fast because of the technology development. Moreover, the society is facing lot of problems and it has to be addressed properly by giving proper technical solution using the latest technologies. In this line the students undergoing engineering education in the higher educational institutions must think creatively and develop innovative products which can be used to solve the problems in the social domine. We see the need to enable a new generation of technical experts who are fluent in understanding, interpreting, and improving human systems, not just technical ones. Guest speaker told that the technical systems we are creating are often disconnected from the wider systems they must exist within. This workshop on “Shaping The Budding Engineers Towards Innovation” was felt useful by the students and all the participants interacted with the guest speaker and gained lot of new insight regarding innovation.
