On 17.06.2022 a guest talk on “How to Pitch Your Startup” was organized by the Entrepreneurship Development Cell and IIC in association with the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering. The Session was handled by Prof. C. Amarsingh Feroz, Associate Professor, Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, Francis Xavier Engineering College from 3.00 PM – 04.00 PM.
The program was presided by Mrs J Friska HOD/ECE and jointly coordinated by Dr. R Prem Ananth, IIC Convener, IIC Innovation Ambassador for "Design thinking & Innovations", Assistant professor, Francis Xavier Engineering College.
The resource person explained What is a Business Pitch?. He said business pitch is a platform used by the prospective entrepreneur to convince an investor or an organization to invest in a business idea. Guest speaker highlighted the importance of pitching the business ideas and the steps to be followed while pitching the ideas. Regarding the pitching different types of pitching namely investor pitching or elevator pitching can be used depending upon the need and requirements. He also stated that the matters to be presented while pitching is very important and it should be structured to convince the investor within a short time.
The guest speaker also gave a lot of examples for pitching the business ideas and he gave a short pitch to explain pitching. He cited examples of Martin Eberhard and Marc Tarpenning pitch about Tesla Car to Elon Musk and invested by Elon Musk. The guest talk was inspiring one and the participants gained knowledge about pitching and how to structure pitching to convince the investor. 45 students and 4 staff members participated in the program.
The interaction between the students and the resource person was highly motivating to all the students. Session end with the feedback of Students. The Program was organized by Dr. R Prem Ananth, IIC Convener, IIC Innovation Ambassador for "Design thinking & Innovations", Assistant professor, Francis Xavier Engineering College.
