On 27.01.2023 a guest talk on “Funding prototypes through EDII Innovation Voucher Program” was organized by the Entrepreneurship Development Cell and IIC in association with the Department of Computer Science and Engineering. The Session was handled by Ms. M. Dharshini of III CSE A, Francis Xavier Engineering College, Tirunelveli from 01.20 pm to 04.00 pm. The session was coordinated by IIC Convener Dr. Y. Harold Robinson, Associate Professor, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Francis Xavier Engineering College. 41 students from second year CSE Department and 2 faculty members participated in the program.
The speaker inspired the students by giving her own experiences in the product development. She highlighted the funding support available from the Government for developing the innovative ideas into prototype and to start the startup. Further, the resource person shared the details about the Udhayam Registration process and the importance of Udhayam registration for the application of any grant like EDII Innovation Voucher Program. Then she discussed the process of uploading the documents for the Innovation Voucher Program. The EDII aims to enhance the spirit of entrepreneurship and the levels of skills by opening various sustainable entrepreneurial paths and accelerating system for entrepreneurship. The resource person also discussed the value of patents and how they are utilized to safeguard start-up ideas and to protect the rights of innovators. The participants felt that the session was very much useful and gained knowledge about the funding systems available for the product development.
