Guest Talk on Entrepreneurial Ecosystem: A catalyst for Entrepreneurship development

On 09.11.2022 a Guest Lecture on “Ideation Techniques for Problem Solving” was organized by the Entrepreneurship Development Cell and IIC in association with the department of CSE. The session was handled by Dr. R Prem Ananth, IIC Convener, IIC Innovation Ambassador for "Design thinking & Innovations", Assistant professor, Francis Xavier Engineering College. 45 students from second year CSE and 2 faculties of CSE department participated in the program. The program was coordinated by Dr. Y. Harold Robinson, EDC Coordinator, Associate professor, Francis Xavier Engineering College from 09.30AM - 12.30 PM. 45 students and 2 staff members participated in the program.

The speaker started the session by rising a question among the students the need for ideation. The speaker said that the students must start thinking creatively and innovatively to uncover the needs of Ideation. Then he explained the steps in Design Thinking and he said ideation is the third step in design thinking. The speaker said ideation is a creative process of generating new ideas, which can be accomplished through a variety of ideation techniques like brainstorming and prototyping. The speaker explained few ideation techniques such as Mind mapping, Storyboarding, Brain writing, Brainstorming, Sketching, and Body storm. It bridges the gap between understanding, defining the problem and building prototypes for testing to gather deeper insight. Students interacted with the guest speaker and gathered lot of information about ideation.
