The 21st century is earmarked as Information Technology driven century as the exponential growth of the IT industry in India in the last two decades has changed the perception of the whole world about India’s storehouse of knowledge and skills and powered economic growth. The rapid advancement in IT sector is visualized by academic and industrial experts and hence, keeping oneself updated with time will support in creating a niche for oneself in the ever-changing scenario. Francis Xavier Engineering College is in the forefront of updating its students as the change of time. A Guest Lecture on “Recent Trends in IT” was conducted by Department of Computer Science and Engineering in association with computer society of India on 15-09-2022 for the Final Year CSE students. The resource person for the programme was Er. Felix Anand, Software Engineer, Microsoft, USA. The programme stared with the prayer by Mr. Arul Amalraj. Dr. E. Manohar, Associate Professor, CSE welcomed and introduced the resource person. The resource person thanked the management for providing him an opportunity to share his knowledge with the students. He started his speech by sharing his career experience with the students highlighting his journey from India to Microsoft USA. He insisted on the importance of communication, IT industry culture, rapidly adapting to new technologies therby fulfilling the expectations of the IT recruiters. He pledged a note of thanks to his father who motivated him to choose a career in software industry. The talk closed with a vote of thanks by Dr. E, Manohar, Associate Professor/CSE. The programme was arranged and coordinated by Mr. Mukesh Krishnan, Assistant Professor/CSE under the guidance of Dr. G. Aravind Swaminathan, HOD/CSE
