Guest Lecture on “An Introduction to Erp”

On 21st October, 2022, a Guest Lecture was conducted on the topic “An Introduction to ERP” to III year Computer Science and Engineering Students . The resource person for the guest lecture was Mr. CR. Sathyamurthy, Senior Professional, Consultant, ERP, CRM, WMS, SCM, Freelancer. Dr. G. Aravind Swaminathan, HOD/CSE welcomed and honoured the resource person. He shared his 35 years of Industrial experience and insisted that technology is a must for big businesses. He explained about the closed economy and globalization concept with ample examples and further added that most of the companies are having ERP. He talked about the importance of technology and the business model which changes over the years. He explained the term ERP, the purpose of ERP, the evolution of ERP, advantages of the ERP system, and various types of ERP architecture. He defined single instance architecture, two tier, three tier and web-based architecture and asked the students to explain the various domains in ERP such as PPC deployment, Procurement, Raw material quality control, accounts, production, product quality control, packing, sales, and return/replacement.
