Funding Opportunities for Earlystage Entrepreneurs

On 28.07.2023 a seminar on "Funding Opportunities for Earlystage Entrepreneurs" was organized by the Entrepreneurship Development Cell and IIC in association with the Department of Computer Science and Engineering. The session was handled by Dr.V.M.Sangeetha, Assistant Professor, Master of Business Administration, Francis Xavier Engineering College, Tirunelveli from 09.30 AM - 12.30 PM. 49 students and 2 faculties participated. This event was coordinated by M.Mariammal AP/CSE.

The program started with the welcome address by M.Mariammal, Francis Xavier Engineering College. The guest speaker explained the concept of entrepreneurship, funding opportunities for early stage of entrepreneurs. She explained the entrepreneurial opportunities available in the social domine. Moreover, the entrepreneurs are having lot of other funding opportunities such as Angel Investment, Crowdfunding platforms, Incubators and Accelerators and Corporate Partnerships.

• Angel Investors: High-net-worth individuals provide crucial initial investments and mentorship, propelling startups toward growth and sustainability.
• Incubators and Accelerators: Startup-focused programs provide funding, co-working spaces, and mentorship, expediting development and market entry.
• Crowdfunding Platforms: Online platforms enable entrepreneurs to showcase their projects to a global audience, securing funds from individuals who believe in their vision.
• Corporate Partnerships: Collaborating with established companies brings not only capital but also industry expertise, access to networks, and potential pilot opportunities.

Early-stage entrepreneurs are presented with a diverse landscape of funding options, each with unique advantages. A strategic approach to securing funding can significantly enhance the prospects of turning innovative concepts into thriving enterprises.

The participants interacted with the resource person and clarified their queries and gained a lot which could be used for developing startup.
