FROM IDEAS TO IMPACT - AN ENTREPRENEUR’S JOURNEY

On 25.10.2024 a session on “From Ideas to Impact - An Entrepreneur’s Journey” was organized by the Entrepreneurship Development Cell and IIC in association with the Department of Computer Science and Engineering. This session was handled by Dr. R. Prem Anand, IIC Convener, Assistant Professor, Francis Xavier Engineering College. Fifty six students from first year CSE D and one faculty of CSE department participated in the program. The program was coordinated by Ms. M. Keerthana, Assistant Professor, Department of English, CSE from 2.00PM – 4.00PM.

The program started with the introduction of a guest speaker by Dr. G. Aravind Swaminathan. During this session, Dr. Prem Anand explained the key concepts of entrepreneurship. The guest speaker said that creativity and innovation are the key elements of entrepreneurial success because it allows one to think creatively and solve problems in new ways. It’s about taking fresh ideas or improving existing ones to create products or services that people need. The speaker emphasized the importance of spotting opportunities where others see challenges. He encouraged the participants to remain curious, keep up with technological advancements, and always look for ways to add value to existing processes or products. In the context of eCommerce, he pointed out that the rise of digital platforms has opened new avenues for niche markets and personalized products.

The resource person explained that a well-executed eCommerce strategy, from website design to delivery logistics, can make a substantial impact. He shared examples of eCommerce startups that succeeded through smart execution, focusing on optimizing the checkout process, ensuring fast and reliable shipping, and offering excellent post-purchase support. Through this program, participants showed keen interest in the concepts of entrepreneurship and gave feedback at the end of the session.
