On 26.08.2023 a Guest Lecture on "Financial Assistance to Develop Startup” was organized by the Entrepreneurship Development Cell and IIC in association with the Department of Master of Computer Application. The session was handled by Mr.V. Arunsrini Vasan (2016 Batch Alumini) Branch Manager, Bharath Financial Inclusion Ltd from 1.30 PM - 04.30 PM. 43 students and 2 faculties participated in the program. This event was coordinated by Mrs.M.K.Subbulakshmi AP/ECE. This event was conducted with the guidance of Dr. Lourdes Poobala Rayen, EDC Director.
The program started with the welcome address by Mrs.M.K.Subbulakshmi A/P-MCA, and Mrs.D.Angeline Ranjathamani HOD/MCA introduced the Guest speaker. The guest speaker Mr.V. Arunsrinivasan started the speech by giving explanation to the financial assistances provided by the banks and other financial institutions to develop startup. While explaining the financial assistances he gave lot of examples of customers who got the financial assistances through banks and the business for which they borrowed the amount. He also highlighted the problems faced by the business establishments because of the poor financial management. In order to overcome the problems faced by the startups regarding the financial management, he suggested to undergo the trainings offered by the Entrepreneurship Development Institutes in financial management.
Moreover, he listed number of government assistances available to develop startups such as startup seed money, startup India financial scheme. He said most of the entrepreneurs are not having awareness about the various financial assistance schemes provided by the government and other financial institutions. He explained the nodal agencies to be contacted to get the financial assistances and the procedures to be followed for applying for the financial support to develop startups. The interaction between the students and the resource person was highly motivating to all the participants. Session came to an end with the feedback given by the students.
