Expert Talk on Innovative Mind Set : A Base for Entrepreneurial Thinking

On 19th September, 2022 an expert talk on “Innovative Mind Set: A Base for Entrepreneurial Thinking” was organized by the Department of Computer Science and Business Studies in association with Entrepreneurship Development Cell and Institution’s Innovation Council at 2:00 pm. Dr. A. Anitha of Francis Xavier Engineering College, Vannarpettai was the resource person and the program was coordinated by Dr. T. Manimozhi, EDC Co-coordinator & Professor Mathematics of CSBS Department. 60 students and 1 staff attended the program.

The guest speaker explained the opportunities to become an entrepreneur and the skills one must possess to succeed in this venture. She said that entrepreneurial mind set is a set of skills that enable people to identify and to make use of the opportunities, learn from setbacks, and to overcome from the setbacks. Entrepreneurial mind set is crucial for creating new businesses. She also spoke about creativity in business and innovation in an entrepreneurship which is essential to succeed in the entrepreneurial venture. In general, a creative process can be characterized as the formation of new shapes and ideas. She highlighted the fact that a new idea only becomes a suitable creative solution if the environment recognizes the idea and wants to disseminate it. Guest speaker requested the students to aware of the surroundings and the problems encountered by the society which can reveal multiple business opportunities.

The feedback link was posted to the participants to collect their opinions about the program. The session went on well and the students interacted with the guest speaker and gathered more information related to innovation and entrepreneurship.
