On 16.11.2022 an Expert Talk on “Enhancement of Entrepreneurial Skillset: A Road to Success” was organized by the Entrepreneurship Development Cell and IIC in association with the department of CSE. Mrs. M. Sharon Nisha, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Francis Xavier Engineering College, Tirunelveli was the resource person. 41 students from second year CSE and 2 faculties of CSE department participated in the program. The program was coordinated by Dr. Y. Harold Robinson, EDC Coordinator, Associate professor, Francis Xavier Engineering College from 09.30 AM - 12.30 PM.

The Guest speaker said that entrepreneurship is an individual creating a new enterprise, bearing the risks and scale up the return for the investment made. She said that the entrepreneur must enhance their skill set which is very much needed to sustain the business venture. She said that entrepreneurs play a key role in the economy as they use their skills to study the market and bring new products according to the market. The speaker said that a person who can assess the need of the market and tapping the gap will have an edge to become an entrepreneur. The speaker said that the Business management skills, Communication and active listening skills, Risk-taking skills, Problem-solving skills, Customer service skills and Financial skills are the basic requirements of an entrepreneur. She explained each skill set with suitable live examples and case studies. She further said that the ability to learn is not a valuable life skill. She also said that growing a business requires a sound strategy based on inherent business sense and skills. The students actively participated in the program and the interaction with the speaker helped the participants to gather more information.
