Entrepreneurial Culture: A New Behaviour Change among Engineering Students

On 2nd November 2022 an expert talk on “Entrepreneurial Culture: a New Behaviour Change among Engineering Students” was organized by the Department of Artificial intelligence and Data Science in association with Entrepreneurship Development Cell and IIC @ 1.30 pm-4.00 p.m. Dr.T.Manimozhi, Associate Professor, Department of Mathematics, Francis Xavier Engineering College was the resource person. 40 students and 2 staff members participated in the program. This program was coordinated by Mrs.P.Sooriabrabha, EDC Co-coordinator of AI&DS Department

The resource person explained the meaning of Entrepreneurial Culture and gave few examples from the Indian scenario. She said the culture in the engineering campus are changing and now the students are interested to start startups. She also highlighted the importance of becoming an entrepreneur. While explaining the role of entrepreneurs she cited few successful men and women entrepreneurs form the real life situation. She said the government of Tamil Nadu and the Central governments are taking lot of initiatives to promote entrepreneurship among the youth and unemployed persons. She highlighted some of the funding schemes which can be used for the development of startup. Some of the students have already started doing business during their leisure time while learning. This is a welcoming change in the mindset of the students. This change in the mindset will help them to explore the various avenues for startin their startup after the completion of their studies. The students interacted with the guest faculty and gathered more information about the business opportunities.
