Entrepreneurial Avenues for the Budding Technocrats

On 13.09.2024, a seminar on “Entrepreneurial Avenues for the Budding Technocrats” was organized by the Entrepreneurship Development Cell and IIC in association with the Department of MCA. The session was handled by Dr.M.Vijaya Maheswari, Assistant Professor, Department of MCA from 9.30 AM to 11.30 AM. 40 students and 2 faculties participated. This event was conducted with the guidance of Dr. Lourdes Poobala Rayen, EDC Director.

The program started with the welcome address by Mrs. D. Angeline Ranjithamani, HOD, Department of MCA, Francis Xavier Engineering College and she introduced the guest speaker. In her address she explained the need for acquiring skills and motivated the students to learn new skills and upgrade themselves with which they can make money. The main objective of the session is to make the students to equip themselves with the knowledge and skills that are needed to develop a profitable venture. The resource person gave a lot of real-world examples for income-generating skills to the students.

Speakers suggested the different ways of earning money using the skills learned during the study. The speaker also discussed recognizing and identifying individual skills as a foundation for business ventures. The software that are needed for mobile application development like Flutter, and Android was also suggested to the students as income-generating areas. The speaker suggested courses like Blender and Maya for game development. Students who are interested in adventurous game development can make use of the course and can earn more.

The session included ideas like freelancing, online courses, consulting services, and product development. The speaker shared case studies of successful entrepreneurs who have effectively monetized their skills. The speaker demonstrated how to create an online presence, utilize social media, and engage with potential customers. The speaker also suggested how to incorporate AI in the applications they develop so that they can earn money. The Block chain technology was presented in a detail manner. The job opportunities in the field of Block Chain technology were explained to the students. Fintech companies that make use of block chain technology were also suggested to the participants. Participants were encouraged to connect with others, share ideas, and seek partnerships that could enhance their ventures. For more realistic and adventures game development and animation movie making, the unreal engine was suggested. The amount of income that is generated using different skills was also indicated. The speaker suggested the ways to earn money using AR and VR technology. The stories of young entrepreneurs who are experts in the field of AR & VR were also presented. This motivated the students to utilize their skills properly and to generate income. The session covered the basics of creating a business plan, including market analysis, financial planning, and marketing strategies. The speaker highlighted the importance of setting clear goals and developing a structured approach to business development. This session explained how social media can be used to promote their skills and develop business strategies
