Empowering the Budding Engineers: The Role of Entrepreneurs in Renewable Energy

On 8.11.2023 a Seminar “Empowering the Budding Engineers: The Role of Entrepreneurs in Renewable Energy" was organized by the Entrepreneurship Development Cell and IIC in association with the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering. The session was handled by Mr. P. K Ramadaoss, Managing Director, SARK Solar Power System from 1.30 PM – 4.30 PM. 42 students and 2 faculties participated. This event was coordinated by Mrs. M. Mary Sumitha AP/EEE & Mr. S. Selvakumar

The program started with the welcome address by Dr. A. Ravi, HoD , Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Francis Xavier Engineering College and introduced the resource person.

The guest speaker started his speech by explaining the need for using the renewable energy resources. He said that the main renewable energy resource is solar. The government is also insisting the people to develop solar system to generate electricity even for the house requirements. In addition to this now a days number of companies have entered in to this sector for the generation of electricity by establishing their solar fields either inside their factory premises to meet their electricity needs. He also explained the Solar Photovoltaic Technology, Types of Solar PV cells, Reliability and Grid Integration. In future the power generation and distribution will emerge as one of the major business activities. In addition to this the government is also encouraging the entrepreneurs to produce the photovoltaic cells which are used in the solar panels. The participants raised few questions to the guest speaker and the speaker gave lot of examples to clarify the doubts.
