On 11.05.2023 a seminar on “Empowering Communities Through Entrepreneurship” was organized by the Entrepreneurship Development Cell and IIC in association with the Department of Computer Science and Engineering from 09:30 AM to 4.00 PM. The resource person of the session was Mrs.M.Bagya Lakshmi, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Francis Xavier Engineering College. 57 students from first year CSE department and 1 faculty participated in the program. The session was coordinated by Mrs.M.Bagya Lakshmi, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Francis Xavier Engineering College.
The resource person explained about the role of entrepreneur in developing the communities in the society. She highlighted some of the prominent entrepreneurs who are playing a major role in the society. The speaker said that the communities can be empowered by introducing the concept of entrepreneurship. She also explained how entrepreneurship can be implemented for the economic development of the people in the community. She stressed the importance of developing startup and how it can be used for the development of the economic conditions of the local communities. The students raised few questions about the startup and the support extended by the government.
