On the 14th July 2023, a workshop titled Expert talk on "Emerging Startup to Cultivate Tomorrows Business Leaders" was organized by the Entrepreneurship Development Cell and IIC in association with the Department of IT. The session was handled by Mrs.J Priskilla Angel Rani ,AP/CSE, Francis Xavier Engineering college. 64 students from Third year IT and 2 faculties of IT department participated in the program. The program was coordinated by Ms. R.Shirly Myrtle, Assistant professor, Department of IT from 2pm-4pm
The resource person explained the Emerging Startups which will help to Cultivate Tomorrow's Business Leaders. She discussed the successful entrepreneurs and aspiring business professionals and the opportunities in the startup ecosystem. She also highlighted importance of leadership to lead a successful startup venture. The speaker emphasized that startups provide a unique environment for individuals to gain hands-on experience, develop a broad skillset, and assume leadership positions at an early stage. Moreover, she discussed how startups foster an entrepreneurial mindset, encourage creative problem-solving, and promote agile decision-making.
While explaining the challenges and opportunities, she discussed the challenges faced by the startups in cultivating business leaders, such as limited resources, intense competition, and navigating uncertain market conditions. They also highlighted the opportunities for personal and professional growth that startups offer, including the ability to work on diverse projects, learn from failures, and build valuable networks. The guest talk also featured interactive sessions where participants had the opportunity to engage with the resource person through Q&A sessions and group discussions. Participants shared their experiences, sought advice on overcoming challenges, and learned practical strategies for personal and professional growth in the startup ecosystem.
