On 19.08.2024, a session on "Discussion on Income Generating Ventures using Information Technology Applications" was organized by the Entrepreneurship Development Cell and IIC in association with the Department of Information Technology. The session was handled by Mr. Sethuram kumar, Assistant Professor, Department of IT, Francis Xavier Engineering College, Tirunelveli, from 2.00 PM to 4.00 PM. 56 Students and two faculties participated. This event was coordinated by Mr. F. Richard Singh Samuel, AP/IT. The event was conducted under the guidance of Dr. Lourdes Poobala Rayen, EDC Director.

Guest speaker, being a student entrepreneur himself, discussed the crucial role of generating revenue through the resources we have.

He shared insights on how platforms like Upwork and Fiverr have enabled millions to offer their services globally. He also talked about the essential skills in demand and how to build a compelling portfolio to attract clients. The session delved into how anyone can set up an online store with minimal investment using platforms like Shopify and Amazon. He provided tips on selecting profitable products and leveraging digital marketing to drive sales. Addressing the rise of digital content creation, He also explained how blogs, YouTube channels, and digital products can become lucrative ventures. He offered strategies for building an audience and monetizing content through affiliate marketing, sponsorships, and ad revenue. He concluded the session by encouraging participants to take advantage of the vast opportunities in IT. He stressed the importance of continuous learning and staying updated with technological advancements.
