Developing Leadership Skills for Engineers: A Pathway to Entrepreneurship

On 12.05.2023 Entrepreneurship Development Cell and IIC in association with the Department of Computer Science and Engineering organized a seminar on “Developing Leadership Skills for Engineers: A Pathway to Entrepreneurship” from 1:30 PM to 4.00 PM. The resource person of the session was Mr.P.Selvakumar, Assistant Professor, Department of Master of Business Administration, Francis Xavier Engineering College. 52 students from first year CSE department and 1 faculty member participated in the program. The session was coordinated by Mrs.M.Bagya Lakshmi, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Francis Xavier Engineering College.

The resource person explained about the concept of entrepreneurship and briefed about the importance of developing the leadership skills. He gave live examples to explain the role of a leader in the successful entrepreneurial venture. The speaker said that the leader is a person who paves the way, shows the way and leads in the right path. This way the entrepreneurs are also leads to scale up the business venture. The speaker explained how this leadership skills can be inculcated among the engineers. The participants raised few questions about inculcating the leadership qualities. The session was an interactive one and helped the participants to gain new insights about the role of a leader in developing entrepreneurship.
