On 25.10.2024, a seminar on “Developing Innovative Mindset” was organized by the Entrepreneurship Development Cell and IIC in association with the Department of MCA. The session was handled by Dr.M.Vijaya Maheswari, Assistant Professor, Department of MCA from 9.30 AM to 11.30 AM. 40 students and 2 faculties participated. This event was conducted with the guidance of Dr. Lourdes Poobala Rayen, EDC Director.
The program started with the welcome address by Mrs. D. Angeline Ranjithamani, HOD, Department of MCA, Francis Xavier Engineering College and introduced the speaker. In her address she explained the ideology behind the developing the innovative mindset. Speaker shared her valuable insights, industry knowledge, and practical skills that are needed for an innovative mind set. 10 students presented their innovative ideas both technically and non-technically. Students also suggested innovative mindset fosters creativity, resilience, and adaptability, enabling better problem-solving and the ability to seize opportunities. Mr. Arshad Ahamed, student of I MCA, suggested the idea of creating 3D object models. He demonstrated how the 3D object models are developed using the technology Unreal Engine. Skills that are needed for the developing 3D models were also presented by the student. He also suggested the ways for earning money through the skills developed.
Mr. Raj Livingston, a student of I MCA identified the gaps in developing new product. He also presented, the ideas of how to be successful in business. Technological risks in developing new products were presented by him. He also suggested the ideas to concentrate on the market needs based on the need of the hour. He explained how an entrepreneur must develop a technology based innovative mind set. Success stories of entrepreneurs who have evolved technically and companies that prioritize innovation were also presented to inspire and motivate other participants. Students also suggested that “the journey toward innovation is ongoing and requires commitment, but the rewards are substantial—enhanced creativity, resilience, and sustainable success.” Students suggested that a strong desire mindset is needed to create innovative ideas. Failures in developing innovative ideas is a common thing. Students suggested to view failure as a learning opportunity rather than a setback. The ability to adjust to new conditions and challenges must be there for developing an innovative mind set. Innovative mind set combines diverse skills and viewpoints, leading to more innovative outcomes. The developers of innovative ideas must allocate time for exploration and research outside of regular tasks.
