On 10.10.2024 a “Developing Entrepreneurial Mindset to the Budding Engineers” was organized by the Entrepreneurship Development Cell and IIC in association with the Department of Computer Science and Engineering. The session was handled by Mrs. Mariammal, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Francis Xavier Engineering College, Tirunelveli from 1.30 PM to 4.00 PM. 55 students and 1 faculty participated. This event was coordinated by M.Mariammal AP/CSE. This event was conducted with the guidance of Dr.Lourdes Poobala Rayen, EDC Director.
The speaker emphasized the importance of innovation, problem-solving, and risk-taking in today’s dynamic world. She shared success stories of engineers who became successful entrepreneurs, illustrating how thinking out-of-the-box and taking initiative can lead to the creation of breakthrough products and companies. The lecture also covered the fundamentals of starting a business, from identifying a market need to prototyping and scaling a solution, as well as managing resources and teams.
The interactive nature of the session encouraged students to ask questions about entrepreneurship challenges and risks, helping them understand that failure is part of the entrepreneurial journey. Students were urged to cultivate resilience, adaptability, and a passion for lifelong learning—key traits necessary for entrepreneurial success. The speaker also stressed the significance of networking, mentoring, and collaboration in the entrepreneurial ecosystem
Overall, the guest lecture provided valuable insights into how budding engineers can develop an entrepreneurial mindset and approach their careers with a broader vision. It left students motivated to explore opportunities beyond traditional career paths, aiming to become innovators who contribute to technological advancements and societal progress.
