On 30.12.2022 an expert talk on “Emerging Opportunities in Entrepreneurship” was organized by the Entrepreneurship Development Cell and IIC in association with the Department of Computer Science and Engineering. The Session was handled by Dr. G. Aravind Swaminathan, Professor and Head, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Francis Xavier Engineering College, Tirunelveli from 01.20 pm to 04.00 pm. 45 students and 2 staff members participated in the program. The session was coordinated by IIC Convener Dr. Y. Harold Robinson, Associate Professor, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Francis Xavier Engineering College.
The resource person explained the meaning of entrepreneurship and the emerging opportunities available to the entrepreneurs. While explaining the meaning of the term entrepreneurship he highlighted the qualities one must possess to become the entrepreneur. The speaker also said that the underlying passion and dedication one have drives the person to excel in the entrepreneurial race. He spoke about the outlier approach of entrepreneurship, emerging opportunities, Innovation as a game changer and the process of venture formation. He also spoke about the 8P’s of Entrepreneurship: Passion, Perseverance, Perception, People, Pro-activeness, Permanent change, Persistent learning & Potential. He spoke about first-generation entrepreneur and encouraged all the students to keep their passion alive and follow dreams for the journey. All the participants attended the program with enthusiasm and benefitted a lot. The session created a motivation among the students to choose entrepreneurship as their career choice.
