On 5.05.2023 Entrepreneurship Development Cell and IIC in association with the Department of Computer Science and Engineering organized a seminar on “Creativity and Innovation: A Seedbed for Entrepreneurship” from 09:30 a.m to 12.30 pm. The resource person of the session was Mr.S.Sivaraj, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Francis Xavier Engineering College. 48 students from second year CSE department and 1 faculty member participated in the program. The session was coordinated by Mrs.M.Bagya Lakshmi, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Francis Xavier Engineering College.
The resource person explained the concept of creativity and innovation with the live examples. He also underlined the importance of creativity into innovation. The speaker also explained how the innovation can be used for developing entrepreneurship. He also explained about the process of starting a business. The resource person asked the participants to identify a problem that exists in the social domine and to develop a solution to solve the problem. The solution, if it is implementable and marketable, it can be used for developing the business venture. The speaker asked all the participants to identify 5 problems faced in the society. This created a good response among the participants and had discussion among themselves to find a solution to solve the problem. The guest speaker also joined in the discussion and gave valuable suggestions. In total the entire session went on well and gave new insights.
