On 28.11.2023 a Workshop on " Business opportunities to earn while learn” was organized by the Entrepreneurship Development Cell and IIC in association with the Department of Information Technology. The Session was handled by Ms. AH. Nishan Assistant Professor -IT, Francis Xavier Engineering College, Tirunelveli from 2PM-4PM . 45 students and 2 faculties participated. This event was coordinated by Ms. R Shirly Myrtle AP/IT.
The program started with the welcome address by Ms. R. Shirly Myrtle AP/IT. The guest speaker started the speech by explaining the entrepreneurship and the entrepreneurial opportunities available to earn while learn in the Information Technology (IT) sector. She also said that the IT sector provides in numerous business opportunities for startups. In recent years freelancing stands as a gateway for individuals to leverage their unique skills on platforms like Upwork and Freelancer.com. Through these avenues can be used by the individuals such as writing, design, programming, and digital marketing. Online education platforms such as Udemy, Skillshare , and Chegg Tutors provide an opportunity for individuals to create and offer courses or tutoring services. By sharing specialized knowledge, individuals not only earn income but also solidify their understanding through teaching and interacting with learners. E-commerce, specifically through drop shipping models facilitated by platforms like Shopify and eBay, offers a low-cost entry into entrepreneurship. This avenue enables individuals to learn about product sourcing, customer relations, and marketing strategies while generating profits without managing inventory. Content creation via blogging, YouTube, podcasts, or social media presents an avenue for individuals to share their expertise and passions.
EDC encourages students to explore and embrace these business opportunities as they offer a bridge between theoretical knowledge and practical application, nurturing a well-rounded skill set and entrepreneurial mindset.
