E Commerce Businesses have emerged extensively. From startups to small businesses and large brands, many segments have benefited from E Commerce. Online websites help an entrepreneur sell their products from anywhere and help customers buy products anytime and anywhere. On 10.09.2022 a guest talk on “Business Opportunities through E Commerce” was organized by the Entrepreneurship Development Cell and IIC in association with the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering. The guest talk was given by Er. Vignesh Muthu, Lead Engineer, UST Digital Transformation solutions company, Trivandrum from 11.30 – 12.30 PM. It was presided by Mr Amarsingh Feroz Assistant HOD/ECE who introduced the chief guest and was jointly coordinated by IIC Convener Dr. R Prem Ananth, IIC Innovation Ambassador for "Design Thinking & Innovations", Assistant professor, Department of ECE, Francis Xavier Engineering College. The speaker gave a brief introduction on E Commerce and its types. Further he highlighted that E Commerce is used by companies and individuals to buy and sell goods and services over the Internet. He categorized the types of E Commerce as Business to Business, Business to Consumer, Consumer to Consumer and Consumer to Business. He further added that out of the above mentioned types, Business to Business (B2B) E Commerce is the leading process of marketing and selling products between two businesses online platforms and quoted Alibaba as an example. The Speaker also addressed how to sell our own products through E commerce platforms such as Handmade products, Arts & Crafts etc. He gave business ideas to the students and staff members, and also explained how to buy products at wholesale price from the manufacturers and sell it on an E-Commerce platform or from your own website. He also explained Print on demand and Drop Shipping methods to start the business in E Commerce with minimum investment. The session was eye opening for many students and staff members to start an E Commerce Business . Totally 41 students and 4 staff members participated in the program.
