On 05.05.2023 Entrepreneurship Development Cell of ECE department and IIC organized an Awareness on "YUKTI Innovation Repository and Innovation Challenge". The session was handled by Dr. R Prem Ananth, IIC Convener, IIC Innovation Ambassador for "Design thinking & Innovations", Assistant professor, Francis Xavier Engineering College from 09.30 - 12.30 AM. 48 students and one faculty member participated in the program.
The resource person explained the important aspects of the National Innovation Repository known as Yukti portal and the procedure for registering the innovative ideas, Prototypes and Startup activities in the YUKTI Portal. He says Yukti is a National Repository which is used to collect all the innovative ideas, prototypes and startups from academic institutions and nurturing for scale up. The speaker says that Yukti portal supports campus to commercialization. He demonstrates how to register in a Yukthi portal. He explained the various categories such as innovative idea, prototype and business model/ startups. He also said that MoE extends the handholding support to develop the startups.
The speakers also explained who are all eligible to upload the innovative ideas, prototype and startups in Yukthi portal. The higher educational institutions current student (regular)/ Recently Graduated /Alumni /Faculty /Staff / Entrepreneur of the Incubation unit of the IIC-institute. The basic eligibility for submission of innovative ideas in the Yukti portal is that the applicant should have association with the institute in any one of the forms as mentioned above. Applicants must upload the copy of the document/ID proof of association with the institute while registration. He also explained TRL, MRL and IRL levels and how to fill this levels in the YUKTI repository.
The program was coordinated by Pradheep T Rajan B, Assistant Professor /ECE, Francis Xavier Engineering College. The session created an awareness about YUKTI Innovation Repository and Innovation Challenge among the participants. Participants interacted with the resource person and cleared their doubts in the registration process and uploading of Ideas, Prototypes and Startups.
